
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. After graduating early from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. There, she made her debut as a professional and assisted the team in winning the league title. Morgan at the time, who was 22 years old, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. In the 123rd minute of the semifinal match against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She ended 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and give 20 assists in the same calendar year and making her the sixth and the tiniest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year, Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. She was named on both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
