She is a very popular artist who has sold more than 41 million albums around the world and more than 150 million songs. She was born in Barbados and had a childhood filled to reggae. When she began to sing, she became a professional singer. To escape the tensions within her family, as well as her parent's constant disputes, she started singing. While still in highschool she was a part of a band group and was asked to sing with Evan Rodgers. The producer was impressed by the talent of this teenager. The girl relocated from the city of her birth to New York to start a profession as a full-time singer.
